We are looking for a Business Immigration Attorney to help us build a new practice line for us to help grow our reach and continue on our mission of empowering immigrants to achieve. This role will design and develop business immigration workflows, lead all business immigration cases, and help scale this practice line to enhance our company. The Business Immigration Attorney will develop relationships with companies and organizations, help build the practice and lead internal education by keeping up with business immigration developments and updates. The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of experience working on a range of employment-based and business immigration matters including developing immigration strategies, programs and processes for corporate employers to manage their foreign national workforce.
As a member of our legal team, this role may also assist with reviewing cases in our humanitarian practice line as needed. All attorneys are expected to review, edit and approve legal cases prior to filing with the government agencies and provide leadership internally for the case preparation team.
Responsibilities:
● Create business immigration practice guidelines, structures and workflows
● Build relationships with companies and organizations who are in need of business immigration attorneys
● Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status in the US, including but not limited to: E-1/2/3, EB-1A, EB-2/3, H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, PERM labor certifications, I-140 immigrant petitions, and I-485 adjustment of status and other business related applications
● Review all business immigration case work and develop a clear case strategy on behalf of individual and corporate clients; Review and edit (including grammar) all legal aspects of a case including but not limited to: all documentation and legal analysis, research complicated issues, supply legal writing for cases including client documents, FBI and FOIA as needed
● Conduct in-depth research and stay abreast of changes in the law; practice and draft client updates on any important developments
● Employ creative and innovative legal strategies to help clients gain legal status in the US, including research and brief writing
● Support internal training for the Case Preparation Team
● Provides legal guidance and analysis to Paralegals working on cases
● Identifies common issues and problem-solves with teammates to create and implement resolutions
● Communicates with clients when a complex legal issue arises
● Monitors past cases for changes in law or understanding of the law
● Attends regular writing training with external tutor as well as any other professional development opportunities provided by the firm
● Supports marketing and social media content at direction of the Director of Marketing
● Special projects as assigned
Requirements:
● Juris Doctor degree and bar membership required
● 4+ years of immigration law experience, particularly with experience in E-1/2/3, EB-1A,EB-2/3,H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, PERM labor certifications, I-140 immigrant petitions, and I-485 adjustment of status applications, and other business related casework
● Excellent communication skills, customer service and organizational skills
● Effectively manage internal and external client relationships
● Flexibility and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
● Strong preference for bilingual in Russian and English
● Ability to travel occasionally for interviews and court appearances

● Some flexibility in hours may be required
