OLA of Eastern Long Island, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and energetic Immigration Attorney to help grow our Immigration Legal Services program.

Full-Time Immigration Attorney (Fully Remote)

The Immigration Attorney will provide individualized assistance and representation to clients in various affirmative and defensive matters.

Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:

· Providing confidential legal consultations on and conducting initial assessments of immigration cases to determine eligibility for immigration benefits

· Counseling and assisting clients and their families with various applications for immigration benefits

· Completing case-related applications and petitions, supporting paperwork, and professional documentation of services

· Working closely with our Director of Immigration Legal Services, our Immigrant Justice Fellow, our legal advocate, and legal interns

· Staying abreast of changes in immigration policy and laws

· Providing community education by keeping the community aware of updates to immigration laws through emails, social media, and/or Facebook live presentations.

Requirements:

· Be admitted to practice law (preferably in New York State).

· Have a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in immigration law and in representing clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and Immigration Court.

· Written and spoken fluency in Spanish and English is required.

· Have experience with humanitarian immigration applications such as VAWA, SIJS, Asylum, U visas, adjustment of status, and removal defense.

Benefits:

· Salary of up to $90,000.
