Job Description
The Finance Shared Services Center Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the shared services operations within the finance department, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of financial services. This role will manage a team, drive process improvements, ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the overall goals of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead a team of finance professionals in the shared services center, ensuring high levels of performance, motivation, and development.
- Develop training programs and ensure continuous improvement in team skill sets.
- Establish clear performance metrics, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the shared services center, ensuring the timely processing of financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure all financial processes are in line with corporate guidelines and regulations.
- Identify, monitor, and resolve any operational issues affecting the finance department.
- Process Improvement:
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce inefficiencies.
- Lead projects aimed at automating manual processes and adopting new financial technologies.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure their adherence across the team.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure that all finance processes comply with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, audits, and other required documentation.
- Monitor the accuracy of financial data entered into systems and maintain data integrity.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding finance services.
- Collaborate with other offices and departments (e.g., IT, HR, OGC, Marketing) to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and third-party service providers as necessary.
- Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to improve decision-making.
- Monitor key financial KPIs to ensure the financial operations are aligned with corporate objectives.
- Internal Audit Management
- Develop and implement audit plans
- Lead the team to perform internal audits to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with policies
- Collaborate with various offices to address audit findings and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Monitor compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or professional accounting certification such as CPA, CMA preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, accounting principles, and regulatory standards.
- Experience with process optimization and automation tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
