Attorney: False Claims Act, Financial Frauds, Whistleblower Representation

Morgan Verkamp LLC is seeking an attorney with 8+ years of experience in False Claims Act litigation, fraud prosecution, financial fraud evaluation and/or related enforcement matters. This is a fully remote position, with occasional travel to our home office and additional travel as needed for litigation, hearings, depositions, client meetings, and case strategy sessions.

Candidates should have substantial experience handling complex civil or criminal fraud matters, False Claim Act litigation, whistleblower matters, government investigations, or other complex fraud prosecution.

The attorney will work closely with a sophisticated litigation team on high-impact matters involving fraud against the government and other complex wrongdoing. Candidates should be curious, engaged learners, excellent researchers and writers, strategic thinkers, confident advocates, and strong project managers who know how to move the ball from start to finish. The role requires someone who is self-starting in a remote setting, comfortable outward-facing, and energized by calls, conversations, public speaking, marketing, and advocacy.

Key qualifications include:

8+ years of experience in False Claims Act litigation, fraud prosecution, financial fraud evaluation and/or related enforcement matters
Demonstrated litigation and trial skills, with additional appellate experience as a bonus
Excellent research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills, with an interest in continued skill development
Strong project-management skills, including the ability to initiate, prioritize, and move complex matters from start to finish
Experience managing complex discovery, motion practice, investigations, case development, and team workflows
Ability to work independently and self-start in a fully remote environment
Dynamic communication and conflict-resolution skills with proven ability to advocate effectively with defense counsel, court personnel, and others
Strong public-speaking and marketing instincts
Commitment to collaboration and teaming cases rather than working as a lone gun
High emotional intelligence, with a keen awareness of the needs of others and the need to contribute to health of the entire team
Compassion for whistleblowers and passion for advocating on their behalf
Commitment to the firm’s long-term strategy, culture, and organizational health
Demonstrated ability to train and teach others
Excellent judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail
