Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will represent immigrants facing deportation proceedings, advocating for them in immigration court by assessing their eligibility for relief from removal, preparing legal documents, and representing them during hearings, aiming to prevent their removal. This role requires excellent legal drafting skills, the ability to negotiate effectively, and a commitment to providing high-quality legal services to our clients.

Duties

Meet with clients to gather details about their immigration status, gather supporting documentation, and assess potential legal defenses like cancellation of removal or withholding of removal.
Thoroughly research applicable immigration laws and regulations to identify potential legal arguments and strategies for each case.
Draft and file necessary legal documents including petitions, motions, briefs and applications for relief from removal with the immigration court.
Appear in immigration court to represent clients during hearings, present evidence, cross-examine witnesses, and argue legal points to the immigration judge.
Maintain detail case files, track deadlines, and communicate effectively with clients and government agencies.
Stay informed about current immigration policy changes and engage in advocacy efforts to support clients' legal rights.

Experience

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
Proven experience in immigration removal defense.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed legal research.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential for effective client representation.

Pay: $107,360.00 - $120,337.00 per year
