About
As a new legal permanent resident of the United States (U.S.) authorized to work for any company without company sponsorship, I am excited to transition my proven skillset toward building a strong, entry-level immigration-focused foundation with a dynamic American law firm and believe that I can make a positive contribution to its success.
Recognized as a Secret-Level Security-Cleared Senior Program Officer with the Canadian Federal Government at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), I can offer 20 years of professional experience gained through all facets of complex immigration and legal processes, including specializations in the asylum program, executive administration, federal laws, client relations, communications, and high-volume case management.
I can demonstrate key strengths from working within CBSA operations and on the corporate side in both regional and national headquarters’ which has helped me develop a well-rounded professional profile, as well as serving as the Pacific Region Representative for the National Refugee Working Group.
I am adept at delivering excellence in performance-, policy-, and process-enhancing decision-making to championing an employer’s core mission, vision, and values. I am also well-versed in legal terminology, research, and documentation; strategic planning; and compliance, data, policy, and workflow analysis; as well as cross-collaborative, award-winning teamwork to consistently promote impactful results.
Within my abovementioned role with the CBSA (currently on leave), I provide functional and strategic guidance and recommendations to stakeholders by extracting and analyzing immigration data and applying laws, policies, and procedures to address needs. Within this role, I objectively investigate immigration business reporting issues and summarize findings aligned with goals. I also ensure the successful delivery of immigration programs and create and facilitate immigration data analytics training and workshops by teaching analysts how to monitor operational activities to identify trends and risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
Prior to this, as a Regional Program Officer, I monitored inland and port of entry operations for regulatory compliance, including leading extensive research on immigration laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to provide ongoing advisement and guidance on complex program and/or regulatory matters for operational areas. I also investigated public complaints regarding regulatory violations, prepared legal reports, and drafted written responses on behalf of the Public Safety Minister’s Office, meeting legislative timelines.
Additionally, I was the Executive Assistant to the Director and performed high-level executive support, including working independently to meet the day-to-day needs of the Director’s office, complex calendaring, financial transaction reviews, travel arrangements, and scheduling meetings and regional events.
To complement my background, please note that I attained a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management and Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Mercy University, as well as a Bachelor of Integrated Studies in Criminal Justice & Public Safety from Simon Fraser University. I recently obtained a Paralegal Certificate in 2025 with a 97% program average from the University of Miami.
Additionally, my solid communication, interpersonal relations, problem solving, conflict resolution, and critical thinking abilities in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments will enable me to seamlessly integrate into a team within a rewarding opportunity.
For the sum of these reasons, I am eager to discuss how my qualifications uniquely match a firm's current and future needs.
