IMMIGRATION PARALEGAL

Ostrom Law Office, LLC seeks an immigration paralegal to work collaboratively with the attorney and staff in its Minneapolis office. We are a small law firm practicing exclusively in US immigration law. We are client-centered with an emphasis on employment-based and family-based immigration. This is a full-time position, offering more advanced duties and responsibilities over time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Under the supervision of the attorney, assist with employment-based cases, including H-1B petitions, I-140 petitions, and PERM cases, including drafting forms, cover letters, and communication to clients, and for PERM, drafting and coordinating the required recruitment steps.

2. Under the supervision of the attorney, assist with family-based cases for clients petitioning for family members both in the US and at consulates worldwide, as well as I-751 petitions and N-400 applications.

3. Assist in updating records for visa expiration dates and priority dates for green card processing.

4. Assist with client agreements and invoicing as needed.

5. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

One year’s experience as an immigration paralegal or legal assistant handing employment-based cases is preferred. A bachelor’s or associate degree is preferred. All applicants should have strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in serving immigrant communities. Strong Microsoft Word and Adobe skills, including creating custom templates, is a plus, as well as knowledge of Excel. Spanish language skills preferred but not required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, a retirement plan when eligible, and a monthly transportation stipend.

START DATE

Start date is flexible, but we are aiming for this position to start on or about April 13, 2026.
