We're a fast-moving startup looking for an Immigration Paralegal who enjoys the puzzle of getting things right. This isn't a back-office role where you'll shuffle paper all day. You'll take complicated visa cases, untangle them, and move them cleanly through the U.S. immigration system, working face-to-face with the government agencies that make those decisions.
If you like the energy of building something, the satisfaction of a flawlessly assembled application, and the occasional thrill of being in the room with USCIS, the Department of State, or other federal bodies, you'll feel at home here.
What you'll do
- Prepare, review, and file U.S. visa and immigration applications (H-1B, L-1, O-1, employment-based and family-based petitions), ensuring every form, exhibit, and supporting document is complete and accurate.
- Act as a point of contact with governmental organizations by coordinating filings, responding to requests for evidence, and representing cases professionally before federal agencies.
- Track case status, deadlines, and changing requirements, keeping clients and team members informed at every step.
- Spot problems before they escalate. When a case has a wrinkle, you'll find a smart, compliant way through it.
- Help build better systems as we grow. Your ideas on how to do this work faster and cleaner are expected, not just welcome.
What we're looking for
- A sharp eye for detail. A missed signature or wrong date matters here, and you instinctively catch what others miss.
- Creative problem-solving. Immigration cases are rarely textbook, and you enjoy finding the path that actually works.
- Confidence dealing directly with government agencies and officials.
- Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines without dropping a ball.
- Prior paralegal or immigration experience is a strong plus, though aptitude, judgment, and drive matter most.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and the ability to work on-site in Washington, D.C.
