JOB DESCRIPTION:
Work Location: Remote (Dallas, TX)
Target Hiring Date: Immediate Availability
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
· Review probate filings, estate records, and MERP cases to determine recovery eligibility and identify potential recovery opportunities.
· Conduct research to verify third-party liability, probate status, beneficiary information, and estate assets.
· Identify executors, heirs, attorneys, and estate representatives and track case activity through resolution.
· Prepare and submit notices, legal correspondence, liens, claims, and supporting case documentation.
· Maintain accurate electronic case files, case notes, and payment or status updates within the case management system.
· Communicate professionally with attorneys, courts, estate representatives, beneficiaries, and state agency staff regarding case status and inquiries.
· Assist with settlement negotiations and resolution of disputes in accordance with program guidelines.
· Coordinate with internal legal and operations teams to ensure timely case progression and follow-up.
· Analyze information from multiple sources to support case review and recovery decisions.
· Ensure compliance with Texas MERP policies, confidentiality requirements, and established workflows and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree;
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
· Knowledge in Medicaid or insurance experience
· Background and/or experience with probate, estate administration, property, or real estate matters
· Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
· Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
· Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Paralegal Certificate or Legal Education
· Experience working with Estate Recovery law
· Experience reviewing court filings, probate records, deeds, liens, or estate-related documentation
