Consilio’s Direct Hire division is seeking a Business Immigration Paralegal for the Washington, DC office of an Am Law firm client.
This role supports attorneys and professional staff with the preparation of complex legal documents, mid-level legal research, and other tasks related to the immigration practice. The position also contributes to firm, office, and team initiatives in alignment with management directives.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Prepare and finalize immigration petitions and applications with minimal supervision, including:
- Nonimmigrant Visas (NIV): H-1B, L-1, E-2/E-3, TN, O-1, and dependent applications
- Immigrant Visas (IV): EB-2, EB-3, NIW, and family-based petitions
- PERM labor certification applications
- Participate in case intake and strategy, including research on SOC classifications and use of private wage surveys
- Maintain timely communication with clients (employees, managers, and HR representatives) via email, phone, and video
- Monitor expiration reports and proactively initiate renewal processes
- Balance workload across multiple attorneys with guidance from practice advisors
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Flexible to work OT as needed
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Paralegal certificate or relevant certification (e.g., NALA or state-specific) is a plus
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience
- At least 2 years focused on business immigration, including preparation of PERM and preference petitions (O-1 and EB experience preferred)
Compensation: $88,100 – $120,100, commensurate with experience.
