Family-Based Immigration Paralegal – Role Description
A Family-Based Immigration Paralegal is responsible for assisting attorneys with the preparation and management of immigration cases involving family-based petitions. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file family-based immigration petitions and applications, including forms such as I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131, and related supporting documents;
- Collect, review, and organize client documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy;
- Maintain and manage case files, deadlines, and follow-ups;
- Communicate with clients to provide case updates, request documents, and answer general inquiries;
- Assist in preparing clients for interviews with USCIS, including document review and guidance;
- Draft cover letters, affidavits, and other supporting documentation;
- Track case progress and respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) as needed;
- Coordinate with attorneys to ensure timely filing and compliance with immigration regulations;
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in immigration law, specifically family-based cases;
- Strong knowledge of USCIS forms and procedures;
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
- Bilingual (English and Portuguese) is a MUST (PORTUGUESE SPEAKERS ONLY)
