Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare immigration forms per case type.
- Draft cover letters including a list of exhibits.
- Draft memorandums of law and motions
- Conduct basic legal research.
- Prepare contracts.
- Prepare, organized, photocopy and upload forms and documents with government agencies and offices within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (ICE), and U.S. Department of Labor.
- Utilized specialized immigration software to send and complete questionnaires and forms.
- Respond to client inquiries and manage case status and follow-up.
- Input and update client data and supporting documents.
- Manage the opening and closing of case files and monitor case status.
Experience Qualifications:
- High School Minimum; College or Paralegal Studies a plus
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as an immigration paralegal.
- Bilingual-English- Spanish required.
- Excellent oral communication and writing skills
- Knowledge and Experience with all types of immigration matters including family, business and deportation cases.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Ability to be a team player and supervise entry level paralegals and legal assistants.
- Effective organizational skills and ability to manage a heavy case load.
- Knowledge of cerenade/eimmigration software program a plus.
- Fluency in French/Creole or Portuguese a plus.
- Trustworthy and proven ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
