Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Paralegal with specialized experience in employment-based immigration, particularly H-1B visa filings. The ideal candidate will work in preparing and managing nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions, with a focus on H-1B filings. This role requires strong organizational skills, immigration law knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple petitions under strict deadlines.
Paralegal Responsibilities:
Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, letters, and support materials.
Conduct legal research and summarize findings for the Petition.
Maintain client case files, databases, and tracking systems.
Communicate with clients, attorneys, and government agencies.
H-1B and Immigration-Specific Responsibilities:
Prepare and file H-1B petitions, including new, transfer, extension, and amendment cases.
Compile supporting documentation for H-1B petitions (e.g., LCA, job descriptions, employer letters, educational evaluations).
Coordinate with employers and foreign nationals to collect necessary documentation and information.
File and track Labor Condition Applications (LCA) with the U.S. Department of Labor.
Assist in preparing other employment-based immigration petitions such as PERM, I-140, I-485, TN, L-1, and O-1 as needed.
Monitor deadlines and expiration dates for H-1B status and ensure timely filings.
Maintain knowledge of current immigration laws and updates related to nonimmigrant and immigrant visas.
Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and assist with audits or site visits as necessary.
Requirements:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree (Paralegal Certificate preferred).
2+ years of immigration paralegal experience, with a focus on H-1B filings.
Proficient in preparing and managing H-1B and other employment-based visa petitions.
Familiarity with DOL and USCIS systems (e.g., FLAG, USCIS online accounts).
Strong understanding of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling high-volume caseloads.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and immigration case management systems (e.g., INSZoom, LawLogix, Tracker, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with PERM, I-140, I-485, and consular processing.
Bilingual proficiency (a plus, especially in Hindi, Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi, or other high-demand languages).
Experience working in a fast-paced law firm or corporate immigration department.
