Alpine Legal Services is looking for an immigration paralegal to join our team. The paralegal reports to the Immigration Attorney and the Executive Director at ALS.
Location: Glenwood Springs, hybrid, or will consider the right candidate for a remote paralegal. 20 hours per week, part time position, available now. Additional hours possible with the right candidate.
Responsibilities: assist immigration attorney with case management from beginning to end.
- Humanitarian and Family Immigration Form preparation using USCIS form .pdfs
- Legal research, keep up with relevant changes in immigration law that affect our work
- Word Document drafting and digital file organization
- Organization: bi-weekly case review with attorney; staff meetings bi-weekly
- Meetings and communication with clients, attorneys, local authorities and agencies, and other professionals to discuss case details
- Meets deadlines and completes projects promptly and competently
Must be able to work as a team, communicate early, and work independently, yet collaboratively. Requires excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, good judgement, and professional demeanor.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams) required
- Knowledge of standard operating equipment necessary (scan, email, computers)
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Ability to problem solve and prioritize projects
- Strong attention to detail and good research skills
