REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to a State Bar
- Fluent in English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience practicing immigration law.
- Proven track record in handling a variety of immigration cases, including family-based, humanitarian, and removal proceedings.
- Aligns with the firm's values and mission statement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consult with potential clients to explain potential immigration relief, the firm's procedures, and the firm's pricing.
- Supervise paralegals and legal assistants to ensure that cases progress, deadlines are met, clients are satisfied with services, and payment is timely.
- Review paralegals' and legal assistants' work product to ensure it is accurate and of the highest quality.
- Prepare motions, briefs, and applications for clients in deportation proceedings.
- Represent clients before USCIS and in immigration court.
- Research and analyze novel legal issues.
- Communicate with paralegals, legal assistants, and clients to effectively navigate difficult situations and manage client expectations and case outcomes.
- Partner with Director of Attorneys to evaluate paralegal and legal assistant work and provide feedback.
- Act as a positive change agent for continued growth, development and improvement of the firm.
- Collaborate with team members to review and suggest new processes or improved processes and support their implementation.
- Advance the culture and organizational vision of Vanderwall Immigration.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a salaried, full-time position and applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The salary for this position is dependent upon experience. Our firm offers a generous benefits package including vision, dental, and health insurance, 401(k) with 3% match, paid time off, and paid federal holidays. We also offer a bonus program which includes additional monetary compensation and additional paid time off. We provide each attorney a yearly budget for professional growth and continuing legal education.
This is an in-person position based at our Beaverton, Oregon office. Relocation assistance will be offered for the right candidate who is willing to move.
