A prestigious law firm is seeking a Senior Trademark Paralegal for either their Boston office. The role will be hybrid, with 3 days onsite, and 2 days remote. The ideal candidate will ideally have at least 7 years of experience with trademark work, preferably from a law firm setting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file foreign and domestic trademark applications and related filings (e.g., statements of use, extensions, amendments, Sections 8 & 15).
- Review and summarize office actions; assist attorneys with drafting responses.
- Conduct preliminary trademark availability searches and evaluate search reports.
- Draft client and foreign associate communications, including filing instructions and prosecution updates.
- Report deadlines to docketing and assist with docket clearance.
- Prepare prosecution status charts and agendas for client calls.
- Evaluate potential specimens for use in filings.
- Assist with TTAB proceedings and trademark litigation (e.g., document drafting/filing, managing pleadings, evidence searches).
- Possess or demonstrate willingness to develop copyright expertise.
- Draft, analyze, and coordinate legal documents and projects under supervision.
- Summarize legal concepts and facts for attorneys or senior paralegals.
- Attend client/legal meetings and proceedings in a supporting role.
- Provide legal project management and task supervision for junior staff.
- Follow all instructions from supervising attorneys/paralegals.
- Maintain accurate and timely time records, meeting all firm and departmental deadlines, meeting annual billing requirement of 1,536 creditable hours (1,416 client billable) and limiting non-client billable hours (pro bono/firm representation) to 120 annually.
- Work a predictable schedule with flexibility during peak periods, notifying appropriate personnel of schedule changes and report non-billable work.
- Maintain notary license as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate (ABA approved program)
- 7+ years of experience in law firm and trademark
