Contract Attorney
Location: Remote (Southington, CT)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
Pay Rate: $72.00 per hour, paid weekly
Contract Duration: 12-month contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Contract Attorney to join our legal team on a remote basis. This role will be pivotal in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of complex commercial agreements, with a strong emphasis on technology-related contracts. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of technology transactions, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate, and review complex contracts, with a primary focus on technology agreements, including but not limited to SaaS, cloud (PaaS, IaaS), artificial intelligence, information security, and privacy agreements.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across technology, risk, operations, and sourcing teams to ensure that contractual terms are aligned with business objectives, risk tolerance, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Analyze contractual risks and proactively partner with colleagues to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide expert guidance and support to internal teams on all contract-related matters, including the interpretation of existing agreements.
- Effectively advise business executives on risk-based terms and provide clear, practical legal advice.
- Demonstrate strong experience in analyzing and interpreting existing agreements.
- Strategically prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, including knowledge of FFIEC guidance on third-party relationships (if applicable to the company's industry).
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- In good standing to practice law in one or more US states.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, either in-house or at a reputable law firm, with a focus on technology transactions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FFIEC guidance on third-party relationships (if applicable).
- Proven experience with drafting and negotiating SaaS, cloud (PaaS, IaaS), and related technology contracts.
- Experience with contracts for services utilizing or relating to artificial intelligence.
- Strong understanding and experience with information security and privacy legal principles and contractual terms.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to both legal and non-legal audiences.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing legal support for the sourcing and contract services functions of a financial institution or another company in a regulated industry.
