Seeking a motivated paralegal to join our Marlborough-based team. We are a small immigration law firm focusing on family and humanitarian cases. We have a diverse clientele and handle a variety of cases, including family-based petitions and green card applications, naturalization, asylum, removal defense, special immigrant juvenile status, and U-visas, etc. We have a friendly and dedicated team and we strive to give our clients compassionate and skilled representation.

This position is in Marlborough, MA. We have a second location in Woburn, MA. This is NOT a remote position.

Responsibilities:

Prepare immigration forms with clients using our case management software
Prepare declarations with clients, sometimes regarding highly sensitive and difficult topics. Prepare and compile supporting evidence for cases
Prepare letters, motions and other correspondence
Prepare packages for submission to the immigration agencies and courts
Communicate with clients, translate documents, accompany clients to immigration interviews for interpreting as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required
Spanish language fluency required. Other languages, including Portuguese, Turkish, or Gujarati, also desirable
Prior immigration law experience helpful
Strong writing and communication skills

Good sense of customer service and a professional demeanor
Computer fluency (Microsoft office, internet, and case management software you will be trained on)
Creativity and willingness to take the initiative to help find solutions to problems, find ways to increase efficiency and to better serve clients
Public service-oriented, sympathetic to immigration-related issues, cultural sensitivity
Interest in helping the firm grow, becoming involved in initiatives to increase efficiency and performance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
