Immigration Case Coordinator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities of staff designated as Immigration Case Coordinator at the Firm include but are not limited to:
1. We are looking for an individual with a wide range of immigration of experience to add to our Immigration group. Individuals with experience in just one part of the immigration process will not be able to perform all of the responsibilities that will be required of this role.
2. Prepare and file nonimmigrant applications/petitions (E, H, L, TN, O) and immigrant petitions (EB 1 to 3) and adjustment of status as well as immigrant visa applications. Prepare, file and oversee labor certification filings (PERM) (be prepared to talk through the entire process of an application/petition of our choosing during the interview);
3. Thorough understanding of prevailing wage concepts and how to calculate corresponding wage levels (be prepared to explain the process during the interview);
4. Must be familiar with the concepts of Delitizer and Kazarian;
5. Perform case intake, analyze case documents, and draft correspondence, and/or memos/summaries;
6. Maintain positive contact with clients and observe confidentiality of client matters;
7. Maintain and organize client documentation, monitor workload and production;
8. Communicate regularly with clients and foreign nationals regarding case filings;
9. Monitor expiration dates and prepare case status reports for clients using case management system and programs;
10. Support the DW Immigration Group with other assigned tasks and projects, as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required:
Immigration Case Coordinators must:
1. Have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or paralegal certification. Equivalent experience will be considered;
2. Have a minimum of 3 years of Immigration Case Coordinator experience;
3. A minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience preparing and filing nonimmigrant applications/petitions;
4. A minimum of three to four years of experience in the preparation and oversight of labor certification (PERM) filings with the Department of Labor. We need someone who thoroughly understands PERM work and is extremely diligent about accuracy.
5. Previous experience with INSZoom strongly preferred;
6. Possess the ability to handle high volume case load while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and productivity;
7. Be proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and proficiency with document management systems;
8. Possess outstanding case/project management and organizational skills;
9. Possess excellent writing skills, have excellent attention to detail, be able to multi-task and work independently toward team goals;
10. Possess the ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
Normal law office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, temperature.
