Arabic/French Speaking Case Manager
The Center for the Integration & Advancement of New Americans (CIANA) is a social services organization located in NYC in Astoria, Queens. We work to integrate new immigrants from the Middle East/North Africa, South Asia, Latin America, and West Africa, into the socio-economic and civic life of American society while maintaining pride in their cultural heritage.
We are seeking a well-organized, gregarious, and detail-oriented self-starter to join our case management team to provide services to our newly arrived immigrant and refugee families with job/housing assistance, public benefits, education support, healthcare enrollment, information and referrals, and general case management services.
Our Preferred Candidate Will Have:
- At least one year of completed college education;
- Fluency in Arabic and French (speaking, reading, writing);
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent verbal/written English communication skills;
- Experience in case management;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Understanding of immigration issues and ability to work with diverse populations;
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct client intakes and psychosocial assessments;
- Monitor client progress, provide case management, casework counseling, and follow-up services;
- Provide translation/interpretation and case conferencing;
- Make referrals to service providers including healthcare, ESL classes, childcare; afterschool programs, immigration legal services, public benefits;
- Prepare, maintain, and update client case records in data management system;
- Attend trainings, meetings, and represent clients at meetings/appointments;
- Advocate and coordinate with service providers, city agencies, and schools on behalf of client families;
- Assist with educational and Know Your Rights (KYR) workshops and other tasks as necessary to facilitate delivery of services to clients.
