We are a full-service immigration law firm seeking to hire an experienced legal assistant who is fluent in Spanish and English. The position is from 9-6 p.m., Monday through Friday. One opening in Forest Hills and one opening in Hicksville, Long Island.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-years prior experience working in the field of immigration law and be able to grasp new and difficult concepts quickly. Duties and necessary skill-sets include: (1) Excellent verbal and written communication skills; (2) Attention to detail, sense of urgency, compliance with deadlines; (3) Document review, managing and organizing case files, drafting letters to clients and other counsel, coordinate filing and service of court documents and trial preparations; (4) Correspond with clients and other interested parties regarding case issues; (5) Work independently and as a productive team player with highly confidential information; and (6) Ability to keep office and practice organized, efficient and running smoothly.

Ability to speak/write fluently in Spanish.

Helpful if applicant has familiarity with business immigration, family immigration, practices and procedures of the Immigration Court, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of State for consular processing and U.S. Department of Labor.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
